Kundmala Bridge..!!!

 

कुंडमाला पुल कोसळला..😳

I was there with my immediate family just a day before when this 30+ years old bridge collapsed; It sends chills down my spine even while writing this; We could have been amongst the victims.

पण ते म्हणतात नां "काळ आला होता पण वेळ नाही; वाचलो बुवा..🙏🏼

The news is all over and my verdict isn't different. This tragic incident occurred due to overcrowding and overloading of people and two-wheelers at the same time, on that particular moment and the deteriorating condition of that so called bridge situated over Indrayani river near dehu road connecting kundmala and begdewadi railway station. The bridge was supposed to be closed as the work order was issued for new bridge construction on 10 th June 2025 due to its prolonged erosion.

It will severely affect the movement as the bridge was a key connector between dehu village and nearby areas especially during religious events like Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj's Palkhi scheduled this week.

WHOM TO BLAME..???

1. The local authority or state government for negligence or people commuting for their daily lives.

2. Lack of security or caution signs to be followed.

Or as we usually do; The fate of innocent people who came to create memories as we did.

People who drowned-starnded-rescued and are injured will leave a permanent scar on the heart and mind of their loved ones.

PREVENTION  OVER COMPENSATION; Always...

We were damn lucky; Many were not.

Never take safety or life for granted...
